LGBT Support

Resources for people with atypical gender issues.

This section of our web site has been created to help you access LGBT support services in Yorkshire and the Humber and also nationally.

Whether you are lesbian gay, bisexual, trans or just look or behave in a way that does not fit society's idea of what it means to be a "man or a woman" it is likely that you may face social and health difficulties. In these pages we hope to point you to the services and groups that can provide appropriate help and support.

GenderShift has been set up to help people with atypical gender issues including LGBT support. This includes people who face issues of sexual orientation, because we see the discrimination faced by Lesbian and Gay people as being founded on atypical gender behaviour, or people who are discriminated against because they appear too masculine or too feminine or do work which society tends to see as gender specific.

We also provide support for friends, family, employers colleagues, partners, children and anyone else who is connected with people who express atypical gender.

To find people and organisations who may be able to provide you with support follow the appropriate links below.

Please help us to expand our Directory of Resources

We are constantly searching for new support resources for people with LGBT or atypical gender issues. If you are aware of any services, or resources you would like to recommend, please complete the form below.

We will contact the service provider to obtain their permission to list them, so no listing will be made without permission. It is therefore essential that you include at least one means of contacting them - preferably email.
